Advantages of screw pump:
1. Wide range of pressure and flow. The pressure is about 3.4-340 kgf/cm 2, and the flow rate can reach 300-3000 cubic meters;
2. Wide range of liquid types and viscosities to be transported;
3. Because the inertial force of the rotating parts in the pump is low, a high speed can be used;
4. Good suction performance and strong self-priming ability;
5. The flow is uniform and continuous, the vibration is small, the noise is low, and the service life is long;
6. Compared with other rotary pumps, it is less sensitive to incoming gas and dirt;
7. Solid structure, easy installation and maintenance.
Disadvantages of screw pump:
The processing and assembly requirements of the screw are high; the performance of the pump is sensitive to changes in the viscosity of the liquid.
Advantages of centrifugal pumps:
1. Compact structure;
2. Wide range of flow and head;
3. Suitable for mildly corrosive liquids;
4, a variety of control options
5. The flow is uniform, the operation is stable, and the vibration is small. No special shock-absorbing foundation is required.
6. Equipment installation, maintenance and repair costs are low.
Centrifugal pumps have major disadvantages:
1. Under normal circumstances, the centrifugal pump needs to be primed or pumped out with a vacuum pump before starting. Although the self-priming centrifugal pump does not need to be primed before starting, there are still limitations in its use.
2. The liquid viscosity has a great influence on the performance of the pump. When the viscosity of the liquid increases, the flow, head, suction and efficiency of the pump will decrease significantly.
3. The application of centrifugal pump in the case of small flow and high lift is subject to certain restrictions. Because the pump body flow channel of the small centrifugal pump is very narrow, it is difficult to manufacture, and the efficiency is also low. Although centrifugal pumps have certain disadvantages, they have more advantages. In many occasions, centrifugal pumps have replaced reciprocating pumps, so centrifugal pumps have been widely used.
